What's it for? What's it for? This was one of the questions I began with. Meaning why do something; what is its purpose, or to what end. And with that I give myself permission to NOT blog every day for 30 days if it isn't in service of something I care about, filling some hole, or bringing enjoyment. Just those first few days were enough to jog me back into writing and paying closer attention to how I spend my days and why. I don't need to add another "to-do" to the list, when there are plenty of tasks on the list already, ones that I'm now getting to. Perhaps I learned something over the course of these few days. Perhaps I grew in some small way through this exercise. I reaffirmed that writing prompts more writing, that thinking prompts more thoughts and that gardening prompts more gardening—or rather reveals the need for ever more. There is an endless supply of words, thoughts and plants to be tended, and all are self-generating and regenerating if allowed to be, if one leans in and listens. Unfettered—a word for the day.
